자율전공 확대 등 급격한 입시 변화 속에서도 맞춤형 전략으로 정원 2,814명 전원 등록

학령인구 감소로 지역 대학들이 신입생 모집에 난항을 겪는 가운데, 국립공주대학교가 3년 연속 신입생 충원율 100%를 달성하며 저력을 과시했다.
공주대 입학본부는 2026학년도 신입생 모집 결과, 정원 내 모집 인원인 2,814명 전원이 등록을 마쳤다고 3일 밝혔다.
올해 대입 전형은 국립공주대에 적지 않은 변화의 시기였다.
자율전공학부(유형Ⅰ·Ⅱ) 신설 및 확대, 전형 명칭과 유형의 개편, 학생부 교과 반영 방법 변경 등 수험생들이 혼란을 느낄 수 있는 요소가 많았다. 여기에 학생부종합전형 면접 방식의 차별화와 학교폭력 조치사항 필수 적용 등 평가 기준도 한층 까다로워졌다.
그럼에도 불구하고 공주대는 고교-대학 연계 활동을 대폭 강화하며 정면 돌파에 나섰다.
입학전형 설명회와 정보 박람회는 물론, 교수들이 직접 고교를 찾아가는 특강과 전공 체험 프로그램 등을 상시 운영했다. 온·오프라인을 가리지 않는 밀착형 진로·진학 상담 등 수험생 맞춤형 홍보 전략이 전 구성원의 노력과 맞물려 '3년 연속 완판'이라는 성과로 이어졌다.
어윤경 입학본부장은 이번 성과에 대해 대학이 꾸준히 추진해 온 '내실 경영'의 결과라고 평가했다.
어 본부장은 "대입 전형 간소화와 평가의 공정성 및 책무성 확보에 주력해 왔다"며 "학생과 학부모의 대입 준비 부담을 경감시키고, 고교 교육 기여대학 지원사업을 통해 고교 교육과의 연계성을 확대한 것이 주효했다"고 분석했다.
이어 "충남과 세종을 대표하는 유일 국립대학으로서 고교 교육과정에 부합하는 전형을 운영하고, 학교 밖 교육과정 지원 등 공교육 활성화를 위해 대학의 자원을 아낌없이 투입하겠다"며 향후 운영 방침을 밝혔다.
