충남도가 농림축산식품부가 주관한 ‘2026년 노지 스마트농업 육성지구 지정’ 공모에서 당진시가 최종 선정돼 총 95억 원 규모의 사업비를 확보했다고 4일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 노지 재배지에 정보통신기술(ICT)을 접목해 기후변화와 농촌 고령화에 대응하려는 국가 추진 과제다. 전체 경지면적의 96%를 차지하는 노지 농업을 데이터 기반의 스마트 재배체계로 전환해 생산성과 효율성을 동시에 높이는 것이 목표다.
정부 공모사업에 선정되며 ‘노지 스마트농업’ 확산의 거점을 마련한 충남도는 이번 선정을 계기로 당진시 송악읍 영천리와 합덕읍 재오지로 일원 418㏊ 규모의 감자 추백·두백·설봉 등 대표 품종 재배단지를 2028년까지 ‘노지 스마트농업 육성지구’로 조성한다.
충남도에 따르면 사업은 당진시와 지역 농업인 단체(감자연구회, 쌍둥이영농조합), 공주대 스마트미래농업 교육연구센터, 그리고 스마트팜 전문 솔루션 기업이 함께 참여하는 컨소시엄 형태로 추진된다.
총 사업비 95억 원 가운데 국비 49억 1000만 원, 지방비 30억 1000만 원이 투입되며, 사업은 △스마트 기반 조성 △스마트 솔루션 도입 △기술 역량 강화 등 3개 분야로 나눠 진행된다.
스마트 기반 조성에는 용·배수로 정비와 무선 통신망 구축, 통합 관제 시스템 설치 등(16억 원)이 포함되며, 본격적인 기술 보급에는 자율주행 농기계, AI 병해충 예찰 드론, 토양 센서 등 첨단 장비 도입에 76억 원이 투입된다.
또한, 3억 원 규모의 기술 교육 프로그램을 마련해 농가에 데이터 분석·정밀 재배 기술을 보급할 예정이다.
