충남도가 도내로 이전하기로 한 공공기관들과의 약속을 완벽히 이행하며 정부의 2차 공공기관 이전에 탄탄하게 대비하고 있다.
이를 위해 3월 5일, 공주시 동현동에서는 전형식 충남도 정무부지사와 한국식품안전관리인증원, 한국쌀가공식품협회, 공주시 관계자들이 모여 ‘공주 동현지구 스마트 창조도시 조성사업’ 착공식을 가졌다.
동현지구 조성은 단순한 개발 사업을 넘어서, 공공기관 개별 이전 유치의 성과를 보여주는 상징적 현장이다.
2023년부터 지난해까지 충남도는 한국식품안전관리인증원, 축산환경관리원, 한국쌀가공식품협회와의 청사 이전 업무협약을 체결하고 모든 약속을 책임감 있게 이행해 왔다. 이를 기반으로 정부의 2차 공공기관 이전에 대비하는 ‘책임행정’ 모델로 평가받고 있다.

경제적 파급효과도 크다. 한국은행 경제통계시스템 분석에 따르면 동현지구 기반 조성으로 생산 유발 529억 원, 부가가치 225억 원, 신규 고용 268명이 창출될 것으로 기대된다.
