[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양 수퍼 페스티벌이 경상남도 주관 2026년 지역특화축제 지원사업 공모에서 A등급에 선정되며 도비 1,100만 원을 확보했다.
이번 공모에는 도내 17개 축제가 선정됐으며, S등급 2개, A등급 10개, B등급 5개로 등급이 나뉘었다.
밀양 수퍼 페스티벌은 상위권에 속하는 A등급을 받아 지역 내 축제 경쟁력 강화에 힘을 보탰다.
수퍼 페스티벌은 물놀이, 공연, 스포츠, 먹거리 등 다양한 체험형 프로그램을 결합해 가족과 청년층 등 전 세대가 함께 즐길 수 있는 여름 관광축제로 자리매김하고 있다.
지난해 제1회 행사는 약 7만7,000명의 방문객을 기록하며 밀양아리랑대축제의 뒤를 잇는 대표 지역 축제로 성장 가능성을 입증했다.
오는 8월 7일부터 9일까지 밀양강변 일원에서 3일간 개최될 제2회 축제에서는 더욱 풍성한 콘텐츠와 차별화된 프로그램으로 방문객들의 기대를 모으고 있다.
이경숙 관광진흥과장은 “이번 A등급 선정은 밀양 수퍼 페스티벌이 지역 여름 관광의 새로운 중심축으로 평가받았다는 뜻”이라며 “앞으로도 축제 콘텐츠를 지속 발전시켜 외부 관광객 유입 확대와 지역 경제 활성화에 기여할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

The Miryang Super Festival has been selected as Grade A in the Gyeongsangnam-do Province's 2026 Regional Specialized Festival Support Project, securing KRW 11 million in provincial funding.
Seventeen festivals across the province were selected for this competition, with two receiving Grade S, ten receiving Grade A, and five receiving Grade B.
The Miryang Super Festival received a top-tier Grade A, further strengthening the region's festival competitiveness.
The Super Festival combines a variety of experiential programs, including water activities, performances, sports, and food, establishing itself as a summer tourism festival for all generations, including families and young people.
Last year, the inaugural event attracted approximately 77,000 visitors, demonstrating its potential to become a leading regional festival, succeeding the Miryang Arirang Festival.
The second festival, scheduled for three days from August 7th to 9th along the Miryang River, is garnering much attention from visitors with its richer content and distinctive programs.
Lee Kyung-sook, Director of Tourism Promotion, stated, "This A-grade designation signifies that the Miryang Super Festival has been recognized as a new hub for local summer tourism. We will continue to develop the festival content to attract more tourists and revitalize the local economy."
