더불어민주당 대전광역시당 공천관리위원회(위원장 원용철)가 제9회 전국동시지방선거를 앞두고 공천 절차에 본격 착수했다.
공관위는 4일 시당 회의실에서 첫 회의를 열고 예비후보자 자격심사 결과와 공모 일정, 심사 기준 등을 확정하면서 본격적인 공천 레이스의 시작을 알렸다.
이번 자격심사에서는 총 103명의 예비후보가 통과했다. 지역별로는 서구가 29명으로 가장 많고, 중구와 유성구가 각각 22명씩, 대덕구 15명, 동구 14명 순이다. 광역의원 비례대표 예비후보로는 1명이 심사를 마쳤다.
대전시당은 5일부터 9일 오후 5시까지 온라인 시스템을 통해 공직선거 후보자 공모를 진행한다. 공모 후에는 면접과 경선 등 절차에 따라 최종 후보를 확정할 예정이다.
특히 지원자가 몰린 서구청장 공천에는 ‘조별경선’ 방식이 도입된다. 이는 다수의 후보가 출마할 경우 경쟁을 효율적으로 정리하기 위한 제도로, 공정성과 투명성을 강화한 절차라는 설명이다.
