【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군 명품농작물 음성명작의 대표 품목인 ‘다올찬 수박’의 육묘 출하와 정식이 본격적으로 시작됐다.
음성군 맹동 및 대소 다올찬수박 육묘장에서 지난 1월 파종돼 약 40~50일간 정성껏 길러진 수박 육묘들이 수박 재배 농가로 속속 배달되고 있다.
6일 군에 따르면, 1기작 기준 맹동 다올찬수박 공정육묘장에서 70만주의 육묘를, 지난해 준공된 대소 다올찬수박 공정육묘장에서 50만주의 육묘를 생산하는 등 총 120만주의 육묘를 맹동 및 대소 수박 재배 농가에 공급할 예정이다. 이는 맹동 및 대소 수박 육묘 소요량의 약 35%에 해당한다.
군은 이번에 식재 한 수박이 6월부터 8월까지 정상적으로 출하될 수 있도록 시설하우스 내 환경개선을 위한 환풍기 및 하우스 필름 교체 사업 등 적극적인 지원을 펼쳐 품질 고급화를 통해 가격 경쟁력을 높여 나갈 계획이다.
군 관계자는 “천혜의 자연조건을 갖춘 음성 지역에서 ‘속이 꽉 차고 단단하다’라는 브랜드 이미지에 맞게 앞으로도 다올찬 수박의 명성을 이어갈 수 있도록 적극 지원할 예정”이라며 고품질 수박 생산을 위해 노력해 줄 것을 농가에 당부했다.
한편 군은 2024년 기준 977농가에서 986ha의 수박을 재배하고 있다.
