4·19혁명의 도화선이 된 대전의 3·8민주의거가 올해로 66주년을 맞았다. 대전시는 8일 오전 11시 시청 대강당에서 ‘담장을 넘어, 민주의 빛으로’를 주제로 기념식을 열고 순국선열과 민주 영령의 뜻을 기렸다.
이날 행사에는 3·8민주의거 참여자와 유족, 김민석 국무총리, 권오을 국가보훈부 장관, 이장우 대전시장, 학생 등 650여 명이 참석했다. 본행사에 앞서 주요 참석자 20여 명은 둔지미공원 내 3·8민주의거 기념탑을 찾아 헌화와 분향을 진행하며 숭고한 희생을 추모했다.
