청와대가 9일 "이재명 대통령이 호세 안토니오 카스트 칠레 신임 대통령 취임식 특사로 정일영 더불어민주당 의원을 대통령 특사로 파견한다"고 전했다.
강유정 대변인은 이날 오전 서면 브리핑을 통해 이같이 전했다. 한·칠레 의원친선협회 이사인 정 의원은 오는 10~12일 칠레를 방문한다.
정 의원은 보리치 현 칠레 대통령 주최 리셉션·알바라도 내무장관 지명자 주최 오찬 등 취임식 계기로 열리는 행사에 참석한다.
정 의원은 이번에 한·칠레 자유무역협정(FTA) 기반으로 발전해 온 양국 경제협력 심화 방안·핵심 광물·인프라·문화·인적 교류 등 분야 협력 확대 방안을 논의한다.
