브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 정부가 민생물가 안정을 위해 국내 석유가격 급등세 진화에 나섰다.
산업통상부는 9일 대한상공회의소에서 ‘중동상황 대응본부 회의’를 개최하고, 정유 4사(SK에너지, GS칼텍스, S-OIL, 현대오일뱅크), 유관기관과 함께 국내 석유가격 안정화 방안을 논의했다.
김 장관은 “평상시 국제유가와 2주 정도 시차로 움직이는 국내 석유 가격이 요 며칠 사이 급등했다”며 “일반 국민들은 석유 가격이 ‘오를 땐 빨리, 내릴 땐 천천히’ 움직인다고 생각한다”고 지적했다.
이어 “최근 중동 상황으로 인한 국제 유가 상승 부담이 소비자들에게 일방적이고 과도하게 전가되지 않도록 투명하고 공정한 석유가격을 책정해 달라”며 “정부는 국제유가 상승에 편승해 민생물가 안정에 역행하는 행위에 대해서는 엄정히 대처할 것이다”고 강조했다.
앞서 산업부는 지난 5일 15시 부로 자원안보 위기경보 ‘관심’ 단계를 발령했으며, 중동 상황 급변에 선제적·체계적으로 대응하기로 했다.
비상 상황 대비 대체 수입선 확보, 해외 생산분 도입 등 물량 확보에 총력을 기울이는 한편, 단계별 비축유 세부 방출계획을 수립해 수급위기 악화 시 즉시 방출할 수 있도록 철저히 준비할 계획이다.
또한, 유가 상승기에 편승해 담합, 가짜 석유판매, 정량 미달 등의 불법행위가 발생하지 않도록 범부처 차원의 합동점검 및 특별기획점검을 강력하게 실시할 방침이다.
