【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=서호영 대구 동구청장 예비후보(전 대구시의원)가 팔공산 관광 활성화와 주민 권리 보호를 동시에 추진하겠다는 정책 공약을 내놓았다.
서 예비후보는 “‘국립공원 팔공산답게, 너도나도 찾고 싶은 팔공산’을 만들겠다”며, 팔공산을 관광경제의 핵심 거점이자 주민 삶을 지키는 공간으로 재설계하겠다고 밝혔다.
현재 팔공산이 국립공원으로 승격됐음에도 불구하고, 관광경제 활성화는 기대에 미치지 못하는 한편 주민들의 사유재산권도 여전히 제한받고 있다고 서 예비후보는 지적했다. 이에 따라 관광 활성화와 자연 보호를 함께 추진하는 ‘투트랙 전략’을 펼치겠다는 입장이다.
구체적으로 팔공산 정책을 전담하는 태스크포스(TF)를 신설, 건축·고도·임야 관련 규제 완화 여부를 검토하고, 지역 특성을 반영한 도시기본계획과 관광정책을 마련할 계획이다. 서 예비후보는 이를 통해 연간 500만 명 방문이 가능한 ‘팔공산 관광 시대’를 열겠다는 목표를 제시했다.
관광 인프라 확충 방안도 내놨다. 팔공산 구름다리 재추진과 함께, 능성동 예비군 훈련장 이전 부지를 활용한 루지, 모노레일, 레일바이크, 스카이레일, 서바이벌 체험시설 등 스포츠 액티비티타운 조성을 제안했다.
또한 갓바위에서 동화사, 파계사로 이어지는 ‘단풍 백리길’과 천년숲, 힐링쉼터 등을 조성해 산림관광 자원을 확대할 방침이다.
지역 축제와 관광을 연계하는 방안도 포함됐다. 동화지구 단풍축제, 파계지구 차와 그림 축제, 갓바위지구 전통 두부·떡 축제 등 다양한 지역 행사를 연계해 관광객의 체류 시간을 늘리고, 이를 지역 소상공인과 농가의 소득 증가로 연결하겠다는 구상이다.
이 밖에 주민 생활 지원을 위한 공약으로는 공산동 주민센터 건립, 민간 주도 플리마켓 활성화, 공산댐 둘레길 조성 등을 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.
서 예비후보는 “팔공산은 동구의 얼굴이자 신경제의 한 축”이라며 “관광 활성화와 자연 보호, 주민 권리가 조화를 이루는 정책으로 동구 경제와 주민의 삶을 함께 살리겠다”고 강조했다.
