【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=추경호 국회의원(대구 달성군, 대구시장 출마예정자)이 9일 대구정책연구원 컨벤션센터에서 열린 대구여성대학 개강식에 참석해 평생교육 프로그램 확장 의지를 드러냈다.
이날 추 의원은 “앞으로 더 많은 시민이 참여할 수 있는 교육 프로그램을 마련하는 데 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.
올해로 9년째를 맞은 대구여성대학은 지역 여성들을 위한 평생학습과 봉사활동 프로그램을 함께 운영하고 있다. 개강식에는 10개 반에서 약 400명이 넘는 재학생과 관계자들이 참석해 새 학기의 출발을 함께했다.
추 의원은 축사를 통해 “대구여성대학은 단순한 지식 전달을 넘어 무료급식 봉사 등 다양한 나눔 활동으로 지역사회에 긍정적인 변화를 일으켜 왔다”고 강조했다. 이어 “가족, 이웃, 지역을 변화시키는 나눔과 지성의 공간”이라고도 평가했다.
또 “평생교육과 여성들의 사회 참여는 지역 공동체의 지속 가능성을 높이는 핵심”이라며 “앞으로 시민 누구나 다양한 교육 기회를 얻을 수 있게 지원을 넓히겠다”고 강조했다.
이날 행사에서는 재학생들의 봉사활동 경험과 교육 프로그램 사례가 소개되며, 평생교육을 통한 지역사회 참여와 나눔의 의미를 다시 한 번 생각해보는 시간이 이어졌다. 대구여성대학 관계자는 “그동안 배움과 봉사를 통해 지역 리더를 꾸준히 배출해 왔다”며, “앞으로도 시민이 직접 참여하는 교육과 봉사 프로그램을 확대해 지역사회와의 연결을 더 강화하겠다”고 전했다.

A Daegu Women's College representative stated, "We have consistently produced local leaders through learning and service. We will continue to expand education and service programs that directly involve citizens, further strengthening our connection with the local community."
