이번 협약은 발달장애인이 체육·문화 활동에 보다 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 환경을 조성하고, 지역사회 내 포용적 가치를 확산하기 위해 마련됐다. 양 기관은 앞으로 긴밀한 협력을 바탕으로 장애인 맞춤형 체육 프로그램을 공동 운영할 계획이다.
특히 들성생활체육센터는 매주 월요일 오전 10시부터 낮 12시까지 센터 내 무료 탁구장을 사회적 약자에게 우선 개방해 지역사회 통합을 도모하는 ‘착한 나눔’ 사업을 추진할 예정이다.
이재웅 구미도시공사 사장은 “이번 협약을 통해 지역사회에 체육과 문화 활동을 보다 체계적이고 지속적으로 제공할 수 있게 돼 뜻깊다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 협력해 누구나 건강하고 행복한 삶을 누릴 수 있는 구미를 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
