상주시 함창읍에 위치한 한국한복진흥원에서 열리는 이번 전시는 최경숙 대구광역시 한복 명장(대구경북한복협회장)의 개인전으로, ‘꽃처럼 가장 빛나는 날, 한복으로 맺어지는 인연’을 주제로 진행된다.
전시는 꽃처럼 피어나고 바느질처럼 이어지는 인연의 의미를 전통 복식의 결·선·색으로 풀어내며, 전통 혼례복을 현대적 감각으로 재해석한 웨딩한복 작품들을 선보인다.
최 명장은 오랜 시간 전통 한복의 맥을 이어오며 절제된 선의 미학과 깊이 있는 색감, 섬세한 바느질로 한국적 아름다움을 구현해 왔다. 이번 전시에서는 전통 한복의 형식을 충실히 유지하면서도 현대적인 감각을 더한 작품들을 통해 전통 혼례복의 품격과 현대 웨딩한복의 가능성을 함께 조망한다.
최경숙 명장은 “웨딩한복을 통해 오늘의 혼례가 지닌 아름다움을 다시 바라보고 싶다”며 “꽃 같은 날, 한복으로 맺은 인연의 찬란한 순간을 관람객들과 함께 나누고 싶다”고 말했다.
박후근 한국한복진흥원 원장은 “이번 전시는 전통 혼례복의 품격을 현대적으로 재해석한 뜻깊은 자리”라며 “많은 분들이 전시장을 찾아 한복이 지닌 아름다움을 함께 즐기시길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
