‘안부살핌 우편서비스’는 집배원이 1인 가구, 고립 청년, 조손 가구 등 사회적 고립 위험이 높은 가구를 주기적으로 방문해 대면으로 안부를 확인하는 사업이다.
서구청이 1인 가구 가운데 집중관리 대상 가구를 선정하면, 집배원이 대상 가구를 월 1~4회 정기적으로 방문해 생필품을 전달하고 건강과 생활 상태를 확인한다. 방문 과정에서 위급 상황이 발견될 경우 즉시 서구청에 전달되며, 서구청은 신속한 대응과 함께 맞춤형 복지 서비스를 제공할 계획이다.
김재익 서대구우체국장은 “우체국 집배원이 지역 내 사회적 고립가구의 안부를 살피는 것만으로도 고독사 위험 요인을 줄이는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 지방정부와 협력해 지역 사회 안전망 강화에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
