포천시는 지난 10일 대진대학교 대진교육관에서 '경기국방벤처센터 2026년 상반기 협약기업 협약식 및 간담회'를 성황리에 개최했다고 11일 밝혔다.
경기국방벤처센터는 국방기술진흥연구소(이하 국기연)와 경기도, 포천시가 공동으로 운영하는 방위산업 전담 지원 기관이다. 민간의 혁신 기술을 국방 시장에 유입시키고, 진입을 희망하는 지역 기업들의 든든한 조력자 역할을 수행하고 있다.
이번 행사는 지난 2월 센터 개소 이후 실시된 상반기 공모를 통해 최종 선정된 38개 우수 협약기업을 대상으로 진행됐다. 현장에서는 협약서 수여와 함께 국기연의 굵직한 주요 지원사업들이 소개되며 기업들의 높은 기대감을 불러일으켰다.

이어진 간담회에서는 기업들의 최대 관심사인 기술개발(R&D)과 경영지원 등 2026년도 핵심 방산 육성 프로젝트가 상세히 안내됐다. 특히 현재 공고 중인 '국방벤처 지원사업'은 혁신 과제의 경우 최대 3년간 20억 원까지 개발비의 75%를 파격적으로 지원한다.
또한, 올해 새롭게 선보이는 'K-방산 스타트업 육성사업'은 창업 7년 이내 기업을 대상으로 성장 로드맵 수립부터 국방전환 R&D까지 3단계 맞춤형 지원을 제공, 튼튼한 방산 생태계 확장을 주도할 계획이다.
