최근 중동 지역 정세 불안에 따른 국제유가 상승 등으로 국내 경유 가격이 상승함에 따라 교통·물류 업계의 유류비 부담을 경감하기 위해서다.
유가연동보조금은 유가 급등 시 유류비가 운송원가에서 차지하는 비중이 25~40%로 높은 교통·물류업계의 유류비 부담을 경감하기 위한 제도다.
경유가격이 ℓ당 1700원을 초과하는 경우 50%를 지원한다. 일례로, 경유가격이 ℓ당 2000원일 경우 1700원의 차액인 300원의 50%인 150원(ℓ당)을 지원한다. 지급 한도는 ℓ당 183원이다.
