대전 유성구가 봄철 대형 산불 발생 위험에 대비해 현장 중심의 선제적 대응 체계 굳히기에 나섰다.
유성구는 당초 예정보다 앞당겨진 ‘대형산불 특별대책 기간’에 맞춰 관내 주요 산불 방재 시설을 돌며 대대적인 안전 점검을 실시했다고 11일 밝혔다.
유성구는 최근 건조한 기후와 강풍 등 기상 여건이 악화됨에 따라 산불 발생 시 초기 진화 역량을 극대화하는 데 주력하고 있다.
이날 정용래 유성구청장은 복용동 산불대응센터를 직접 방문해 진화 장비의 가동 상태와 긴급 대응 체계를 꼼꼼히 살폈다. 아울러 현장에서 사투를 벌이는 산림재난대응단 대원들과 만나 근무 여건 및 애로사항을 청취하며 빈틈없는 상황 관리를 당부했다.
특히 이번 점검에서는 국립대전현충원 내부에 설치된 산불소화시설의 실전 가동 여부가 중점적으로 다뤄졌다. 해당 시설은 산불 발생 시 4개의 타워에서 물을 강력하게 분사해 화마의 확산을 막는 핵심 장치로, 현장 점검 결과 즉시 가동이 가능한 최적의 유지 상태를 유지하고 있는 것으로 확인됐다.
유성구는 시설 점검과 병행해 시민들의 경각심을 높이는 홍보 활동도 대폭 강화한다. 산림과 인접한 농가 주변은 물론, 대전둘레산길 등 등산객의 발길이 잦은 주요 구간에 산불 예방 현수막을 집중 배치해 사소한 부주의가 대형 화재로 이어지지 않도록 계도할 방침이다.
