대전광역시가 대한민국을 넘어 글로벌 영상 콘텐츠 시장을 선도할 ‘특수영상 제작 거점 도시’로의 대전환을 시작했다.
대전시는 11일 오후 유성구 도룡동 건립 부지에서 ‘융복합 특수영상 콘텐츠 클러스터’ 착공식을 열고, 2029년 정식 개관을 목표로 한 대장정의 신호탄을 쏘아 올렸다.
총사업비 1,690억 원(국비 772억 원, 시비 918억 원)이 투입되는 이번 클러스터는 지하 1층, 지상 8층 규모(연면적 3만 3,528㎡)로 지어진다. 오는 2028년 10월 완공 후 내실 있는 준비를 거쳐 2029년 상반기에 본격적인 문을 열 예정이다.
클러스터 내부에는 최첨단 시설이 대거 들어선다. 고난도 촬영이 가능한 전문 스튜디오 5개 실을 비롯해 관련 분야 유망 기업 80여 곳이 둥지를 틀 입주 공간, 미래 인재 양성을 위한 교육실, 시민들이 특수영상을 직접 즐길 수 있는 전시체험장 등이 조화롭게 배치된다.
