대전·충남 통합시장 출마를 선언한 장종태 국회의원(더불어민주당, 대전 서구갑)이 대전의 지도를 다시 그리겠다는 포부를 밝혔다.
11일 오전 대전시의회에서 열린 기자회견에서 장 의원은 공간·경제·인재·복지·교통·청년 등 6개 분야의 대전환 과제를 제시하고, 인공지능(AI)과 첨단산업을 기반으로 도시 전반을 재설계하여 대전을 명실상부한 '글로벌 AI 중심도시'로 도약시키겠다는 구상을 제시했다.
장 의원은 먼저 '공간 대전환'을 위해 대전역과 조차장을 잇는 창업 타워를 조성하고, 자운대 일대를 첨단 연구와 주거가 결합된 '동탄급 신도시'로 개발하겠다는 계획이다.
또한 원촌동 하수처리장 부지에는 K-헬스케어 혁신지구를, 안산첨단국방산단에는 한국국방연구원 유치를 추진해 국방 전략 플랫폼을 확대하겠다고 덧붙였다.
'경제 대전환' 측면에서는 '대전형 STO(토큰증권) 플랫폼' 구축과 1조 원 규모의 AI 펀드 조성을 약속했다. 연구원들의 창업 규제를 완화하기 위해 대덕특구를 AI 스핀오프 특구로 지정하고, 시장 직속 AI혁신위원회를 설치해 컨트롤타워 기능을 강화할 방침이다.
