적발된 업체는 대성실업(주), 대전충남양돈축산업협동조합, 부경양돈협동조합, 씨제이피드앤케어(주), (주)도드람푸드, (주)보담, (주)선진, (주)팜스토리, (주)해드림엘피씨 등 총 9곳이다.
이 중 가담 정도가 중한 대성실업(주), 대전충남양돈축산업협동조합, 부경양돈협동조합, 씨제이피드앤케어(주), (주)도드람푸드, (주)보담 등 6개 법인은 검찰에 고발될 예정이다.
이마트는 육가공업체로부터 공급받는 가격에 일정 이윤을 붙여 최종 판매가를 결정한다. 따라서 이들 업체의 납품가 담합은 곧 소비자 가격 상승으로 이어졌고, 국민들은 부당하게 높은 가격으로 돼지고기를 구매해야 했다.

브랜드육의 경우 이마트가 각 육가공업체로부터 견적서를 제출받은 후 업체별 협의를 거쳐 공급받는 가격을 확정했는데, △(주)도드람푸드 △(주)보담 △(주)선진 △(주)팜스토리 △(주)해드림엘피씨 등 5개 업체는 2021년 7월부터 2023년 10월까지 10차례(계약금액 약 87억 원)에 걸쳐 견적 가격을 사전에 합의해 제출했다.
공정위 관계자는 “이번 조치는 국민 생활과 밀접한 식재료인 돼지고기 분야의 담합을 처음으로 적발해 제재했다는 점에 의미가 있다”며 “향후 식료품 가격 안정에 기여할 것으로 기대한다”고 전했다.
한편, 공정위는 현재 조사 중인 밀가루, 전분당, 계란 등 다른 식료품 분야의 담합 사건도 신속히 처리해 물가 안정을 위협하는 행위에 대해 엄정 조치할 방침이다.
