정 예비후보는 이날 “동대구역이 더 이상 단순한 교통 거점에 머무르지 않고 체류형 경제 공간으로 새롭게 탈바꿈해야 한다”며 “청년 창업과 골목상권, 보행 환경이 어우러진 새로운 역세권 모델을 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
주요 공약으로는 청년창업 스타트업 허브 조성, 효신로 ‘젊은이 거리’ 및 골목상권 활성화, 동대구역에서 옛 MBC 부지까지 잇는 명품 보행로 조성 등이 제시됐다.
정 예비후보는 먼저 동대구역 일대에 창업보육 공간과 투자 연계 프로그램을 갖춘 스타트업 허브를 조성해 청년 창업 생태계를 구축하겠다는 계획을 내놨다. 또한, 공유오피스와 연구·산학 협력 기능을 갖춘 창업 지원 공간도 단계적으로 마련하고, 지역 대학과 연구기관과 연계한 창업 프로그램도 운영할 방침이다.
이와 함께 효신로 일대를 ‘젊은이 거리’로 조성해 청년 맞춤형 임대주택과 팝업스토어, 청년 창업 점포를 지원하고, 로컬 브랜드 및 문화행사를 결합한 상권 활성화도 추진한다는 구상이다.
또한 도시철도 4호선 개통에 대비해 동대구역에서 옛 MBC 부지까지 이어지는 구간을 보행자 중심의 명품 보행로로 재설계하고, 가로 환경과 조명, 도로 구조를 개선해 상권 접근성을 높이겠다는 계획도 제시했다.
정 예비후보는 “동대구역의 유동 인구와 교통 인프라를 지역 실물경제로 연결하면 일자리와 소비가 동구에 머물 것”이라며 “K-2 후적지, 스마트시티, 혁신도시와도 연계해 동구 발전의 새로운 성장축을 만들겠다”고 강조했다.
