동구청은 12일 김태운 부구청장이 구청장 권한대행으로 공식 업무를 시작했다고 밝혔다.
윤석준 전 동구청장은 정치자금법 위반 혐의로 벌금 200만 원이 확정되면서 구청장직을 잃게 됐다. 대법원 제3부는 이날 상고심에서 원심 판결을 그대로 유지하고, 윤 전 구청장의 상고를 기각했다.
윤 전 구청장은 2022년 지방선거를 앞두고 선거관리위원회 미신고 계좌를 통해 홍보 문자 발송 비용 등 약 2천665만 원을 수입·지출한 혐의로 재판에 넘겨졌다. 1심과 2심 모두 정치자금의 수입·지출은 신고된 계좌를 사용해야 한다는 정치자금법을 위반했다며 벌금 200만 원을 선고했고, 대법원에서도 이 판결이 확정됐다.
동구청은 이날 긴급 확대간부회의를 열고 권한대행 체제 전환 이후 구정 운영 상황을 점검했다. 또 행정 공백을 최소화할 방안에 대해 논의했다.
김태운 권한대행은 “주요 현안 사업이 차질 없이 추진될 수 있도록 하고, 공직기강 확립에도 힘쓸 것”이라며 “앞으로 약 4개월 동안 행정의 연속성과 안정성 확보를 최우선으로 하겠다”고 말했다.
동구청은 앞으로 권한대행 체제에서 선거사무와 일반 행정을 분리 운영하고, 주요 개발사업과 민생 현안이 차질 없이 추진되도록 부서 간 협업을 강화할 방침이다.
