【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도는 행정안전부가 실시한 ‘2025년 재해예방사업 추진실태’ 점검 결과 도내 여러 기초지자체가 우수 지자체로 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다고 밝혔다.

평가 결과 상주시와 청송군이 최우수 지자체로 선정됐으며, 구미시와 예천군이 우수 지자체로 이름을 올렸다. 또한 영양군과 청도군은 장려 지자체로 선정됐다.
이번 평가는 전국 15개 시·도의 기초지자체를 대상으로 풍수해생활권종합정비사업, 자연재해위험개선지구 정비사업, 위험저수지 및 급경사지 정비사업 등 총 918개 재해예방사업의 사업관리, 예산 집행, 공정 관리, 안전관리 등을 종합적으로 점검해 우수 지자체를 선정한 것이다.
평가는 2025년 상·하반기 두 차례에 걸쳐 진행됐으며, 지자체 자체 점검과 외부 평가위원이 참여한 중앙합동점검을 병행하는 방식으로 객관성을 높였다.
경북에서는 도 차원의 평가 지도와 협력 속에 상주시와 청송군이 ‘최우수’, 예천군과 구미시가 ‘우수’ 지자체로 선정되며 재해예방사업 추진 역량을 인정받았다. 특히 상주시와 청송군은 신속한 예산 집행과 체계적인 현장 안전관리에서 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 알려졌다.
이번 평가에서 전국적으로 총 21개 시·군·구가 우수 지자체로 선정된 가운데, 경북은 6개 지자체가 포함돼 전국 광역자치단체 가운데 가장 많은 성과를 거둔 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 경북은 내년도 재해예방사업 예산 확보에서도 유리한 기반을 마련할 것으로 기대된다.
권순박 경북도 안전기획관은 “기후변화로 집중호우와 자연재해 위험이 커지고 있는 만큼 재해예방사업의 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있다”며 “도민의 생명과 안전을 지키기 위해 선제적인 재해예방사업 추진에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 경북도는 올해 146개 지구에 총 3,440억 원의 국비와 지방비를 투입해 재해예방사업을 추진하고 있으며, 2027년 신규 재해예방사업 지구 발굴과 예산 확보에도 적극 나서고 있다.

He added, "We will do our best to proactively implement disaster prevention projects to protect the lives and safety of our residents."
Meanwhile, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province is investing a total of 344 billion won in national and local funds in disaster prevention projects across 146 districts this year. It is also actively working to identify new disaster prevention project districts and secure funding for 2027.
