<브레이크뉴스 강원 = 김일웅 기자> 북부지방산림청이 서울과 경기 북부 권역의 산림 생태계를 위협하는 '소나무재선충병' 확산을 막기 위해 유관기관들과 촘촘한 방어선 구축에 돌입했다.
북부지방산림청은 12일 서울국유림관리소에서 송준호 청장 주재로 '2026년 서울·경기북부 소나무재선충병 방제지역 협의회'를 개최하고, 빈틈없는 맞춤형 공동 대응 전략을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

앞서 강원 영서와 서울·경기 남부 권역 협의회를 마친 북부지방산림청은 이번 회의를 통해 수도권 북부 지역의 방제망을 최종적으로 점검했다. 이날 협의회에는 북부지방산림청과 서울국유림관리소를 필두로 서울 강남구·노원구, 경기도 산하 남양주·의정부·포천·양주·파주·연천·동두천 등 총 12개 기관이 대거 참석해 머리를 맞댔다.
특히 한국임업진흥원 소나무재선충병 모니터링센터가 자문기관으로 합류, 고도화된 방제 기술과 확산 차단 전략을 전수하며 전문성을 한층 더 끌어올렸다.
참석자들은 2025년 하반기 방제사업 추진 현황을 꼼꼼히 짚어보는 한편, 올해 새롭게 추진될 2026년도 방제사업 청사진을 투명하게 공유했다. 또한 기관별 맞춤형 방제 전략을 발표하고, 행정 구역의 경계를 넘어 권역 내 방제 사각지대를 원천 차단하기 위한 끈끈한 협력 방안을 심도 있게 모색했다.

송준호 북부지방산림청장은 "소나무재선충병은 선제적이고 전략적인 대응으로 추가 피해의 싹을 자르는 것이 핵심"이라고 강조하며, "앞으로도 권역별 정례 협의회를 구심점 삼아 기관 간 공조 체계를 굳건히 다지고, 소중한 산림 자원을 지켜내는 데 행정력을 집중하겠다"고 포부를 밝혔다.
