국민의힘 충남도당이 제9회 전국동시지방선거를 앞두고 기초의원 후보자 공천 접수를 마감하며 본격적인 공천 경쟁에 돌입했다.
충남도당에 따르면 이번 공모에는 지역구 기초의원 168명, 비례대표 33명 등 총 201명이 지원했다. 공천 접수는 지난 5일부터 11일까지 7일간 온라인 시스템을 통해 진행됐다.
이번 접수 결과는 충남 각 시·군별로 기초의원 출마 열기가 높다는 점을 보여준다. 도당 관계자는 “다양한 경력과 세대가 참여해 의미 있는 경쟁 구도가 형성됐다”며 “투명하고 공정한 심사를 통해 지역 발전에 기여할 인재를 선출하겠다”고 밝혔다.
충남도당 공천관리위원회는 앞으로 서류심사와 면접, 경선 절차를 순차적으로 진행해 최종 후보자를 확정할 예정이다.
