브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 홈플러스는 농림축산식품부 미국산 신선란 추가 수입 물량 중 2만8000판을 확보해 오는 16일부터 전국 대형마트(서귀포점 제외)와 일부 홈플러스 익스프레스 점포에서 단독 판매한다고 13일 밝혔다.
가격은 1판 5790원으로 지난 1월 대비 200원 인하했다. 선착순으로 판매하며 1인당 구매 가능 수량은 2판으로 한정했다. 최대한 많은 고객들이 ‘미국산 백색 신선란’을 구매할 수 있으면서, 단시간에 물량이 소진되는 것을 방지하기 위한 조치다.
이번에 판매하는 ‘미국산 백색 신선란’은 농림축산식품부가 고병원성 조류인플루엔자(AI) 발생 위험 지속에 따른 계란 수급 불안을 대비하고자 이달 추가 수입한 물량이다.
홈플러스는 설날 연휴를 2주 앞둔 지난 1월 말 농림축산식품부 미국산 신선란 1차 수입 물량을 국내 마트 단독으로 판매한 바 있다. 1차 수입 물량 중 홈플러스가 단독으로 확보한 4만5000판은 1월 31일 판매 개시 이후 열흘 만에 전량 완판됐다.
남기범 홈플러스 낙농&식재료팀 바이어는 “2021년부터 물가안정을 위해 미국∙스페인산 계란을 단독 판매한 데 이어, 올해도 선제적으로 미국산 신선란을 판매해 고객들의 체감 물가 완화에 기여하고자 한다”며 “계란 구입 시 다양한 선택지를 제공하는 것은 물론, 식탁 필수 먹거리인 계란을 가격 부담 없이 구매할 수 있도록 최선을 다하고 있다”고 말했다.
