(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천서부경찰서가 13일, 주민이 실제 체감하는 취약지역과 문제점을 파악하기 위해 주민 대상 온라인 설문조사를 하고 현장실사를 통해 개선 필요지역 총 62개소를 발굴, 서구청 등 유관기관과 범죄취약지 시설물 개선을 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다. 

서부경찰서에 따르면, 경찰서 범죄예방진단팀의 취약지 현장진단 결과를 토대로 서구청 등 유관기관에 CCTV 설치 및 수리, 보안등 신설, 공공시설 보수 등 총 60건의 문제점에 대한 개선 협조를 요청했고, 자체적으로는 주민이 불안해하는 시간대에 112순찰차와 기동순찰대를 활용하여 순찰을 강화하고 있다.

서부경찰서의 지역 맞춤형 범죄예방 활동은 앞으로도 계속된다. 이번 개선 활동이 앞서 작년 12월 한 달간 시행했던 주민 설문조사(인천서부서의 ‘경청’)를 바탕으로 이뤄진 만큼, 주민이 요구하는 범죄예방 및 환경개선 활동에 인력과 예산을 집중하기 위해 앞으로 3주간 설문조사를 다시 진행한다.
