충청남도교육청이 학생들의 과도한 사교육 의존도를 낮추고 공교육 안에서 스스로 공부하는 문화를 정착시키기 위해 ‘EBS 충남 자기주도학습센터’ 운영을 본격화하며 교육 현장에 새바람을 일으키고 있다.
충남교육청은 논산과 계룡 지역에 자기주도학습센터를 설치하고, 공교육 기반의 학습 지원을 통해 교육 격차 완화와 사교육비 경감이라는 두 마리 토끼 잡기에 나섰다고 밝혔다.
이번에 문을 연 논산 센터는 충남교육청남부평생교육원에, 계룡 센터는 계룡시 청소년별마루센터에 각각 둥지를 틀었다.
현재 지역 중학생 41명이 참여하고 있는 이 센터는 월요일부터 토요일까지 운영되며, 특히 평일에는 방과 후인 오후 9시까지 문을 열어 학생들에게 안정적인 학습 공간을 제공한다.
