국립공주대학교 RISE사업단이 충남도 내 대학 및 유관기관들과 협력하여 지역 도시 문제 해결을 위한 혁신적인 프로젝트의 서막을 열었다.
공주대 RISE사업단은 13일 아산 순천향대학교 향설도서관 동아홀에서 충청남도와 아산시 등 17개 기관, 그리고 선문대 RISE사업단을 포함한 지역 8개 대학 관계자와 학생 200여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘지역대학연합 도시혁신 공간설계 정책 아이디어 콘텐츠 기획 사업(RUCAS 2026)’ 발대식 및 업무협약식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사의 핵심은 ‘크루즈 아키톤(Cruise Archithon)’의 시작을 알리는 발대식이다. 참여한 17개 기관은 업무협약을 통해 지역 대학생들이 제안하는 도시혁신 공간설계 아이디어가 실제 정책으로 연결될 수 있도록 인적·물적 자원을 공유하기로 뜻을 모았다.
주요 협약 내용은 도시혁신 정책 아이디어 기획 사업 공동 추진 ,지·산·학·연 확산 플랫폼 구축을 위한 협력 ,청년 자원의 지역 정주 및 취업·창업 아이디어 발굴 지원 ,기관 간 콘텐츠 제휴 및 정보 공유 등이다.
지난 2011년부터 명맥을 이어온 이번 공간설계 프로젝트는 올해 아산시 신창면 읍내리 일대를 집중 조명한다. 다문화 거주민 비율이 높은 지역 특성을 반영해 ‘국제문화타운’ 조성과 도시 재생을 위한 참신한 아이디어를 발굴하는 것이 목표다.
이를 위해 8개 대학 200여 명의 학생과 지도교수들은 전문가 특강을 시작으로 아산시 가족센터 및 주민자치회와 연계한 현장 답사를 진행한다. 지역 주민의 목소리를 직접 듣고 문제를 해결하는 ‘현장 중심 리빙랩(Living LAB)’ 활동을 통해 실효성 있는 설계안을 도출할 계획이다.
본 사업은 총 3개의 프로젝트를 축으로 2026년 3월부터 11월까지 약 9개월간 진행된다. 특히 프로젝트 결과물은 ‘지산학연 혁신플랫폼’을 통해 3D 메타버스 형식으로 아카이빙된다.
이는 지자체 정책 수립에 필요한 공간 설계 데이터베이스(DB)로 활용되는 동시에, 시민들이 온라인에서 도시혁신 콘텐츠를 상시 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 예정이다.
김송자 국립공주대 RISE사업단장은 “대학의 전문 지식과 지역사회의 수요가 만나는 이번 프로젝트는 지역 문제 해결의 혁신적 모델이 될 것”이라며 “충남·세종 중심 대학으로서 지역민과 상생하는 대학의 역할을 강화하고 RISE 사업의 성공적인 추진을 위해 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”고 강조했다.
