더불어민주당 강준현 국회의원(세종시 을·국회 정무위원장 간사)이 세종시의회 결의안 채택과 관련해 일부 정치권의 중앙부처 이전 공약을 “사실에 기반하지 않은 선동”으로 규정하며 강력 비판했다.
세종시의회는 지난 12일 제104회 임시회 제2차 본회의에서 국민의힘 최원석 의원이 대표발의한 ‘무분별한 국가기관 이전 요구 규탄 및 행정수도 사수 결의안’을 채택했다.
이는 지방선거를 앞둔 타 지자체 후보들의 부처 이전 공약에 대한 반발로, 세종의 행정수도 지위를 강조한 조치였다.
강 의원은 “선거 국면에서 다양한 제안은 자연스럽지만, 정부가 수차례 부인한 사안을 현실 위협처럼 부풀려 시민 불안을 자극하는 것은 무책임하다”고 지적했다.
그는 행정안전부가 “세종 중앙부처 타 지역 이전 검토 없음, 향후 계획도 없다”고 공식 확인한 점을 상기시키며, 김민석 국무총리가 2월 국회 대정부질문에서 “더 이상 생각하지 않고 있다”고 답변한 바와 이재명 대통령의 지난해 시·도지사 간담회 발언(“타 부처 분산 이전 결코 없을 것”)을 근거로 제시했다.
