시에 따르면 노로바이러스 감염증은 매년 11월부터 이듬해 봄철까지 주로 발생하며 오염된 물이나 음식물, 특히 굴 등 어패류 섭취나 환자와의 접촉, 오염된 환경 표면 접촉 등을 통해 전파된다. 감염 시 구토, 설사, 복통, 메스꺼움 등 급성 위장관염 증상이 나타나며 영유아와 노인, 기저질환자의 경우 탈수 등 합병증 위험이 높아 각별한 주의가 필요하다.
이에 영천시는 지역 내 감염 확산을 막기 위해 예방 홍보 캠페인과 홍보물 배부를 진행하고 있으며, 학교와 유치원 등 집단급식소를 운영하는 교육·보육시설을 대상으로 개인 위생수칙 준수와 감염관리 강화를 당부했다. 특히 흐르는 물과 비누로 30초 이상 손 씻기, 음식 조리 전·후와 식사 전 손 씻기 등 기본적인 위생수칙 준수가 중요하다고 강조했다.
박선희 영천시보건소장은 “노로바이러스는 특별한 치료제가 없어 예방이 최선”이라며 “손 씻기 등 개인 위생수칙을 철저히 지켜주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
한편 영천시는 한국실명예방재단과 협력해 오는 19일 신녕면 행정복지센터 2층에서 만 60세 이상 시민을 대상으로 무료 안검진을 실시한다. 검진은 오전 9시부터 오후 3시까지 진행되며 영천시에 거주하는 60세 이상 주민이면 사전 신청 없이 현장에서 무료로 검진을 받을 수 있다.
검진은 안과 전문의가 직접 참여해 시력 및 굴절 검사, 안압 측정, 세극등현미경 검사, 안저 검사 등 다양한 정밀 검사를 진행하며, 검사 결과에 따라 돋보기와 안약도 제공될 예정이다.
영천시는 지난해에도 154명의 시민이 무료 안검진에 참여하는 등 안질환 조기 발견과 눈 건강 관리 인식 제고에 기여한 바 있으며, 올해도 많은 시민들이 검진에 참여할 수 있도록 적극 홍보할 계획이다.

The examinations will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and residents of Yeongcheon City aged 60 or older can receive the free examination on-site without prior registration.
An ophthalmologist will participate directly in the examination to conduct various precise tests, including visual acuity and refraction tests, intraocular pressure measurement, slit-lamp microscopy, and fundus examination. Depending on the test results, reading glasses and eye drops will also be provided. Yeongcheon City contributed to the early detection of eye diseases and raising awareness of eye health management, with 154 citizens participating in free eye exams last year.
