이날 기자회견에는 차규근 조국혁신당 대구시당위원장(국회의원), 황순규 진보당 대구시당위원장, 신원호 기본소득당 대구시당위원장 등이 참석했다.
이들 3당은 현재 국회 정치개혁특별위원회에서 논의 중인 중대선거구제, 연동형 비례대표제, 결선투표제 도입, 비례대표 확대 등 ‘선거제도 개혁 5대 핵심 법안’의 즉각 상정과 3월 내 처리를 요구했다.
또 “정치권이 양당 중심의 기득권 구조에 안주하며 선거제도 개혁을 외면하고 있다”며, 더불어민주당이 대선 과정에서 약속했던 정치개혁 공약을 반드시 이행해야 한다고 목소리를 높였다.
이들은 “민의를 왜곡하는 승자독식 선거 구조를 바꿔 사표 없는 선거로 나아가야 한다”며 “기초의회 중대선거구제 도입, 자치단체장 결선투표제 도입, 지방의회 연동형 비례대표제와 비례대표 30% 확대 등을 즉각 추진해야 한다”고 주장했다.
아울러 국민의힘 대구시당에도 정치개혁 논의에 적극 동참할 것을 촉구했다.
