이 예비후보는 16일 발표한 건의문을 통해 “북구의 오랜 숙원인 7대 현안을 다음 대구시장의 공약 사업으로 반영해달라”라고 요구했다. 그는 “33년간의 공직 생활과 북구 부구청장 재임 시절 직접 겪은 주민들의 필요를 바탕으로 마련한 제안”이라고 설명했다.
이어 “대구는 통합신공항 추진 등 도시 전환기를 맞고 있지만, 북구는 여전히 대규모 이전 부지와 유휴지 문제를 해결하지 못하고 있다”면서 “북구의 혁신이 이뤄져야만 대구 전체의 균형 발전이 가능하다”고 강조했다.
이 예비후보가 제시한 7대 현안에는 △대구시 산격청사 이전 및 산격동 일대 재개발 △금호워터폴리스 기회발전특구 안착 지원 △경북농업기술원 부지 개발 △대구 농수산물도매시장 이전 후 부지 활용 방안 마련 △운전면허시험장 이전과 후적지 개발 △대구소년원 이전 추진 △칠성동 학교용지 개발 문제 등이 포함됐다.
이 후보는 “구청장은 대구시장 정책을 실제로 실행하는 파트너”라며 “북구 7대 현안은 단순히 한 지역의 문제가 아니라 대구 전체의 균형 발전을 좌우할 만큼 중요한 과제이기 때문에 시장 후보들의 확고한 실행 의지가 필요하다”고 밝혔다.

The candidate stated, "The district head is a partner who actually implements the policies of the Mayor of Daegu," adding, "The seven major pending issues in Buk-gu are not merely problems of one region, but are crucial tasks that will determine the balanced development of the entire city of Daegu; therefore, a firm commitment to implementation from the mayoral candidates is required."
