‘희망디딤돌’은 삼성의 대표 사회공헌 사업으로 자립준비청년에게 1인실 원룸 형태의 개별 주거공간을 제공하고 개인 역량에 맞춘 1대1 맞춤형 통합 사례관리 서비스를 통해 자립을 지원하는 민관 협력 사업이다.
이날 협약식에는 김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행을 비롯해 박승희 삼성전자 사장, 정효명 부사장, 하헌재 상무, 이경민 삼성생명 고문, 박윤경 대구상공회의소 회장 등 주요 관계자들이 참석했다.
협약에 따라 대구시와 삼성전자는 지난 2016년 삼성전자의 사회공헌사업으로 설치된 ‘대구자립통합지원센터’의 시설 인프라 개선을 추진한다.
이를 통해 매년 센터를 이용하는 100여 명의 보호아동과 자립준비청년에게 보다 쾌적하고 안전한 주거환경을 제공할 계획이다.
이와 함께 청년들의 경제적 자립을 지원하기 위한 취업 프로그램도 강화된다. 삼성전자는 ‘전자IT 제조기술자’와 ‘반도체 정밀배관 기술자’ 양성과정 등 전문 취업 설계 교육을 지원해 청년들이 기술 역량을 갖추고 경제적 자립 기반을 마련할 수 있도록 돕는다.
대구상공회의소는 지역 우수기업을 발굴해 직무교육을 이수한 자립준비청년과 기업 간 채용 연계를 지원한다. 특히 회원사를 대상으로 채용 연계와 사업 홍보를 적극 추진해 청년들이 지역에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 협력할 예정이다.
이번 협약은 아동복지시설 등을 떠나 사회에 첫발을 내딛는 자립준비청년에게 단순한 주거 지원을 넘어 주거 안정과 교육, 취업으로 이어지는 통합 지원체계를 구축했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.
대구시는 앞으로도 자립준비청년의 의견을 적극 반영해 취업 및 자립 지원 정책을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행 행정부시장은 “이번 협약을 통해 자립준비청년들이 안정적인 주거환경 속에서 교육과 취업 기회를 함께 얻을 수 있는 기반이 마련되길 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 청년들이 진정한 자립을 이루고 지역사회의 당당한 구성원으로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Key officials attended the signing ceremony, including Kim Jeong-gi, Acting Mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City; Park Seung-hee, President of Samsung Electronics; Jeong Hyo-myeong, Vice President; Ha Heon-jae, Managing Director; Lee Kyung-min, Advisor at Samsung Life Insurance; and Park Yoon-kyung, President of the Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Under the agreement, Daegu City and Samsung Electronics will proceed with facility infrastructure improvements for the ‘Daegu Integrated Self-Reliance Support Center,’ which was established in 2016 as part of Samsung Electronics’ social contribution project.
Through this, they plan to provide a more comfortable and safe living environment for approximately 100 children under protection and young adults preparing for self-reliance who use the center annually.
In addition, employment programs designed to support the economic independence of young adults will be strengthened. Samsung Electronics will support specialized career planning training, such as courses for ‘Electronic IT Manufacturing Technicians’ and ‘Semiconductor Precision Piping Technicians,’ to help young adults acquire technical skills and establish a foundation for economic independence.
The Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will identify outstanding local companies and facilitate employment linkages between young adults preparing for self-reliance who have completed job training and the companies. In particular, they plan to actively promote recruitment linkages and business initiatives to member companies to help young adults settle stably in the region.
This agreement is significant in that it establishes an integrated support system for young adults preparing for independence—who are leaving child welfare facilities and taking their first steps into society—that goes beyond simple housing assistance to lead to housing stability, education, and employment.
