충남도가 당진 철강산업의 위기 상황을 점검하고 맞춤형 지원책을 총동원한다.
이를 위해 충남도는 16일 당진상공회의소 대회의실에서 '제2차 경제상황 현장 점검회의'를 열고 철강 기업들과 위기 극복 방안을 논의했다. 7개 기업 관계자 등 15명이 참석한 가운데, 당진 철강 산업을 '위기 선제대응지역'으로 지정하는 방안이 핵심 의제로 다뤄졌다.
앞서 충남도는 산업통상자원부에 지정 신청서를 제출한 상태로, 다음 달 최종 확정을 목표로 행정 절차를 밟고 있다. 지정이 성사되면 투자 보조금 우대, 이차보전 등 금융 지원을 통해 기업 경영과 고용 안정을 도모할 수 있다.
충남도는 철강 및 연관 중소기업을 위해 100억 원 규모의 경영안정자금 융자를 운영하고, 매출채권 보험료 지원 대상을 확대하는 등 금융 안전망을 강화한다. 노후화된 부곡지구는 '피지컬 AI 기반 산단'으로 탈바꿈시키며 스마트공장 구축 사업도 철강기업을 우선 검토한다.
또 연구개발·시제품 제작 보조금 지원, 전기료 부담 완화를 위한 분산에너지 특구 지정, 태양광 설치 지원 등 실질적 경쟁력 제고 방안도 병행 추진한다.
