브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 유용원 국민의힘 의원이 우크라이나와 중동 전장에서 확인된 드론 전쟁 양상을 분석하고 국제 안보환경 변화를 진단하기 위한 자리를 마련했다.
유 의원은 오는 19일 오전 9시 국회 의원회관 제9간담회의실에서 ‘우크라이나·이란 전장에서 확인된 드론 전쟁의 확산과 국제 안보환경 변화’를 주제로 세미나를 개최한다.
이번 세미나는 우크라이나와 중동 지역에서 드론 등 무인 전투체계가 급속히 발전하면서 한반도를 포함한 국제 안보 환경에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 새로운 전술과 대응 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 방한 중인 우크라이나 안보·군사 전문가들이 직접 참여해 현장 경험을 공유할 예정이다.
세미나는 아산정책연구원 소속 양욱 연구위원이 좌장을 맡아 2개 세션으로 진행된다. 첫 번째 세션에서는 뉴 유럽 센터의 나탈리야 부티르스카 수석연구위원이 북·중·러 간 경제·군사 협력과 북한군 포로 송환 문제, 한·우크라이나 관계 발전 방안 등을 발표하고, 크리스티나 젤레뉴크 연구위원이 토론에 나선다.
두 번째 세션에서는 양욱 연구위원이 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁을 통해 발전한 북한의 드론 전력과 중국·러시아·이란·북한으로 이어지는 이른바 ‘CRINK’ 드론 협력 네트워크를 분석한다. 이어 전직 우크라이나 군 장교이자 안보 전문가인 미카일로 사무스가 현대 전장에서 드론이 차지하는 역할과 대응 전략에 대해 보충 토론을 진행할 예정이다.
유 의원은 세미나에 앞서 배포한 보도자료를 통해 “우크라이나와 이란 전장에서 확인되듯 전쟁의 양상이 포병과 기갑, 유인기 중심에서 벗어나 정밀성과 가성비를 앞세운 드론 중심으로 급격히 변화하고 있다”고 강조했다. 이어 “수백에서 수천 달러 수준의 드론이 전차와 장갑차를 무력화하는 반면, 이를 요격하기 위해 수백만 달러 규모의 미사일이 사용되는 상황은 전쟁의 상식을 뒤집고 있다”고 지적했다.
또한 “북한은 우크라이나 전장에 병력을 파병하며 실전 데이터를 축적하고 드론 전술을 빠르게 흡수하고 있다”며 “러시아·중국·이란과의 협력 네트워크까지 고려하면 안보 위협이 더욱 복합적으로 확대되고 있다”고 밝혔다.
유 의원은 “우크라이나 전문가들의 생생한 경험에서 도출된 교훈은 대한민국 국방 혁신의 중요한 이정표가 될 것”이라며 “전장의 현실을 반영한 대응 전략 마련이 시급하다”고 강조했다.
한편 유 의원은 지난 2월 두 번째로 우크라이나를 방문해 북한군 파병 실태를 점검하고 현지 드론 생산업체를 시찰하는 등 전훈 분석 필요성을 제기해왔다. 그는 국방부에 전훈 분석단 파견을 촉구하는 등 현장 중심의 안보 대응 강화를 강조하고 있다.
