인천공항세관에 따르면, 이번 검거.구속 송치된 이들 조직이 밀수입한 마약류 원료물질은 사프롤과 MDP-2-P 글리시디에이트(이하 글리시디에이트) 등 총 5.4kg으로, 시가 8억8천만원(29,430명 동시 투약분) 상당에 달한다.

인천공항세관은 2025년 8월경 태국발 국제우편을 통해 식료품 속 은닉하는 방법으로 밀수입한 대마초 300g을 적발한 후, 통제배달을 실시해 우편물을 수취하는 베트남 국적 A씨(25세, 남, 밀수책)를 검거했다.
대마초를 수령하기 위해 A씨가 타고 온 차량을 수색하는 과정에서 마약류 원료물질 글리시디에이트 527g을 추가로 적발·압수하고 A씨를 인천지방검찰청에 구속 송치했다.

마약제조에 사용된 화학물질은 인체에 유해한 성분을 함유하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 폭발의 위험성이 있어 제조시설이 주택가에 위치하고 있을 경우 인명피해가 우려되는 상황이었다.
