포천시는 지난 13일 광주광역시 엘(L)7 충장 바이 롯데호텔에서 개최된 ‘대한민국건강도시협의회(KHCP) 2026년 봄 정기총회’에 참석해 정회원 가입 인증패를 수여받았다고 17일 밝혔다.
대한민국건강도시협의회는 시민 건강 증진을 목표로 지방자치단체 간 우수 정책과 사례를 활발히 공유하는 핵심 협력 네트워크다. 포천시는 이번 정회원 가입을 발판 삼아, 국내 회원 도시들과 선진 사례를 교류하며 건강도시 정책 추진에 속도를 낼 전망이다.

그동안 ‘품격 있는 인문도시’를 표방하며 시민을 위한 다채로운 정책을 펼쳐온 포천시는, 이번 인증을 계기로 정책 역량을 집중해 지속가능한 건강도시 조성에 박차를 가한다.
특히 지역 특성을 살린 시민 참여형 맞춤 건강 증진 프로그램을 본격적으로 운영하고, 아리움 체육센터 및 한여울 파크골프장 등 시민들이 일상에서 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 생활체육 인프라를 대폭 확충할 계획이다.
포천시 관계자는 “이번 정회원 가입은 포천시가 건강도시로 나아가는 중요한 전환점이 될 것”이라며, “앞으로 포천시만의 특색을 살린 체계적인 건강 정책을 적극적으로 추진해, 시민 모두가 일상에서 건강하고 행복을 누리는 ‘더 큰 포천’을 완성하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
