포천시는 지난 16일 시청 시정회의실에서 ‘포천시 농촌공간 재구조화 및 재생 주민협의체’ 제1차 회의를 성공적으로 개최했다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 주민협의체는 ‘농촌공간 재구조화 및 재생 기본계획’ 수립 과정에서 지역 주민들의 다양한 의견을 수렴하고, 포천시만의 고유한 특성에 부합하는 맞춤형 농촌 발전 방향을 모색하기 위해 구성됐다. 협의체는 관내 14개 읍면동에서 추천받은 주민자치회, 이·통장협의회 등 지역 대표 인사 28명으로 꾸려졌다.
이날 열린 첫 회의에서는 농촌공간 재구조화 정책의 핵심 개념과 추진 방향, 현재 포천시의 기본계획 수립 진행 상황 등을 투명하게 공유했다. 이어 향후 농촌특화지구 후보지 발굴 및 농촌공간의 실질적인 발전 방안을 두고 위원들 간의 열띤 논의가 진행됐다.

농촌공간 재구조화 및 재생 정책은 농촌의 생산·생활·환경 기능을 체계적으로 관리하고, 정주 환경 개선과 지역 자원의 효율적 활용을 통해 농촌에 새로운 활력을 불어넣는 중장기 핵심 국가 정책이다.
특히, 포천시는 지난해 내촌면이 농림축산식품부 주관 ‘농촌공간정비사업’ 대상지로 최종 선정되며 국비 등 대규모 사업비를 확보하는 쾌거를 이룬 바 있다. 시는 내촌면의 성공적인 공간 재편 사례를 포천시 전체 농촌공간 재생의 대표 모델로 삼아 정책을 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
