증평군체육회가 주최하고 충청북도족구협회와 증평군족구협회가 공동 주관하는 이번 대회는 전국 각지에서 85개 팀, 800여 명의 선수와 관계자가 참가해 이틀간 열띤 경기를 펼칠 예정이다.
대회 첫날인 21일에는 초청일반부, 초청40대부, 충북·중장년부 등 3개 부문 경기가 오전 8시부터 진행된다.
이어 22일에는 충북관내1부, 충북관내2부, 충북일반부, 증평관내부 등 4개 부문 경기가 열린다.
경기 방식은 초청일반부와 충북·중장년부가 풀리그전으로 진행되며, 나머지 부문은 예선 리그전을 거쳐 각 조 1·2위 팀이 본선에 진출해 토너먼트 방식으로 우승팀을 가린다.
군은 이번 대회가 지역 체육 활성화는 물론 전국 족구 동호인들의 교류의 장이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
