【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군가족센터가 결혼이민자와 다문화가족의 안정적인 지역사회 정착을 돕기 위해 통번역서비스와 자녀 대상 기초학습지원사업을 운영한다.
먼저 결혼이민자들의 원활한 한국사회 적응을 지원하기 위해 통번역 지원사업을 추진하고 있다. 해당 서비스는 한국어 소통에 어려움을 겪는 결혼이민자들이 행정절차, 의료서비스, 교육시설 이용 등 일상생활 전반에서 겪는 언어적 어려움을 해소할 수 있도록 돕는 사업이다.
이 서비스는 관내 결혼이민자뿐만 아니라 외국인과 난민가족에게도 제공되며, 입국 초기 상담과 생활정보 제공, 외국인증 발급 및 체류기간 연장 안내, 병원·학교 이용 등 다양한 분야에서 통번역 지원을 받을 수 있다. 센터에서는 영어, 베트남어, 중국어 통역이 즉시 가능하며, 그 외 언어의 경우 타 지역 센터와 협력해 추가 지원을 진행하고 있다.
이와 함께 옥천군가족센터는 다문화가족 및 외국인 자녀들의 학습능력 향상과 학교생활 적응을 돕기 위해 기초학습지원사업도 추진한다. 센터는 옥천통합복지센터 5층 교육실에서 오리엔테이션을 개최하고 3월 중순부터 본격적인 프로그램 운영에 들어갈 예정이다.
기초학습지원사업은 7세부터 초등학교 전 학년을 대상으로 문해·수리 영역 중심의 한글과 기초수학 학습을 지원하는 프로그램으로, 한글 읽기와 쓰기, 기초수학 등 기본 학습을 수준별 맞춤 방식으로 지도한다. 또한 다양한 체험활동을 병행해 학습 동기를 높이고 정서적 안정에도 도움을 줄 계획이다.
