대전시장에 도전하고 있는 장종태 더불어민주당 국회의원(대전 서구갑)이 대전의 산업·도시 구조를 대대적으로 재편하는 이른바 ‘공간 대전환’ 구상을 내놓았다.
18일 밝힌 장 의원의 구상 핵심은 대전의 주요 거점을 첨단 산업 중심지로 다시 묶어 연구개발과 창업, 생산, 주거가 연결되는 미래형 도시 구조를 만들겠다는 데 있다.
장 의원은 이번 구상을 통해 대전을 단순한 과학도시를 넘어 공학과 국방, 헬스케어 산업이 집적된 국가 전략산업 거점으로 키우겠다는 목표를 제시했다. 도시 곳곳의 기능을 새로 배치해 대전의 성장 지도를 다시 쓰겠다는 것이다.
가장 먼저 제시된 축은 안산 첨단국방산업단지의 국방 클러스터화다.
