【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청은 존중과 배려의 언어문화를 확산하기 위해 추진 중인 <눈높이 인성교육 프로젝트>의 일환으로 학생들이 자신의 언어습관을 스스로 점검할 수 있는 상시 언어습관 자기진단을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
<눈높이 인성교육 프로젝트>는 ‘눈맞춤-높임말-이어말하기’ 대화법을 바탕으로 서로의 눈높이에서 배려와 경청, 존중과 공감의 태도로 소통하는 언어 중심 인성교육이다.
이번 자기진단은 언어 중심 실천형 인성교육을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다. 학생들이 자신의 언어 사용 습관을 돌아보고 바른 언어 사용을 생활 속에서 실천하도록 돕는 데 목적이 있다.
충북교육청은 인성교육·사이버폭력 예방 교육 종합서비스 <도란도란>과 연계해 자체 접속 링크를 구축하고, 이를 충북형 교수학습 플랫폼 <다채움>에 탑재했다.
학생들은 다채움에 로그인한 뒤 <스스로채움–오늘의 학습> 메뉴에서 언어습관 자기진단 콘텐츠를 선택해 참여할 수 있으며, 진단 결과는 <진단점수>와 <해석>, <도움말> 등을 통해 스스로 확인할 수 있다.
자기진단 문항은 ▲일상대화 ▲언어예절 ▲불량언어 ▲갈등언어 ▲수업대화 ▲매체언어 등 다양한 상황에서의 언어 사용을 점검할 수 있도록 구성했다. 초·중·고 학생 수준을 고려해 학교급별 8~20개 문항으로 마련해 학생들이 자신의 언어생활을 구체적으로 돌아볼 수 있도록 했다.
진단 결과를 바탕으로 개인 또는 학급·학교 단위의 <언어 약속>을 정하고 이를 학교문화 책임규약과 연계해 실천하도록 운영한다. 이를 통해 학생이 주도적으로 참여하는 존중의 언어문화를 학교 교육과정 속에서 확산해 나갈 예정이다.
자기진단에 참여한 김준(사천초등학교 6학년) 학생은“평소 친구들과 이야기할 때 무심코 사용하는 말이 다른 사람에게 상처가 될 수 있다는 점을 생각해 보게 됐다.”라며“앞으로 친구들과 서로 존중하는 말을 쓰려고 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
최선미 인성시민과장은 “학생들이 자신의 언어습관을 스스로 점검하고 바른 언어 사용을 실천하는 과정 자체가 인성교육의 중요한 출발점이다.”라며 “눈맞춤·높임말·이어말하기 실천이 학교와 일상 속에 자연스럽게 자리 잡을 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다.”라고 말했다.
