[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 전국 11개 시군의 170여 마리의 소가 출전해 기량을 겨루는 제22회 창녕 전국 민속소힘겨루기대회가 오는 25일부터 29일까지 부곡온천관광특구 내 소힘겨루기경기장에서 열린다.
경기는 소 무게에 따라 백두, 한강 등 3개 체급으로 나눠 토너먼트 방식으로 진행되며 총상금 규모는 8000만원에 달한다.
특히 이번 대회는 대한민속소힘겨루기협회의 개정된 대회 규정이 적용된다.
공정하고 안전한 경기 운영 체계 구축을 위한 소뿔 관리 기준 강화, 경기 시간 최대 40분 이내로 제한, 감독관 상시 배치를 통한 지속적인 관리 감독 등 엄격한 동물복지 기준에 따라 운영될 예정이다.
또한 경기장 내 CCTV 추가 설치와 사행행위 근절 캠페인 등을 통해 불법 도박을 근절해 건전한 관람 문화 조성에도 총력을 기울이고 있다.
