【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=단성면 지역사회보장협의체가 거동이 불편한 독거노인을 위한 ‘찾아가는 목욕봉사’를 정기적으로 운영하며 지역 돌봄을 강화하고 있다.
단성면 지역사회보장협의체는 올해 3월부터 10월까지 매월 둘째 주와 넷째 주 토요일, 관내 독거노인을 대상으로 목욕봉사를 실시한다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 목욕시설 이용이 어렵거나 거동이 불편한 어르신들의 위생 관리와 건강 증진을 돕기 위해 추진된다.
협의체 위원들이 직접 가정을 방문해 목욕을 도와드리고 말벗 활동을 병행하며 정서적 돌봄까지 함께 제공하는 것이 특징이다.
특히 매화골방문요양센터(대표 김동석)의 목욕차량 지원으로 이동이 어려운 어르신들도 보다 안전하고 편리하게 서비스를 이용할 수 있어 큰 도움이 되고 있다.
협의체는 정기적인 봉사활동을 통해 복지 사각지대에 놓인 어르신들을 지속적으로 발굴·지원하고, 이웃 간 돌봄 문화를 확산해 나갈 계획이다.
신명희 공공위원장은 “앞으로도 복지 사각지대에 놓인 이웃들을 지속적으로 살피고 다양한 맞춤형 복지서비스를 통해 따뜻한 지역사회를 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 협의체는 지난 14일 중방리·북상리·북하리 일대 독거노인 가정을 방문해 첫 목욕봉사를 실시했으며, 참여 어르신들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.
