【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 보은군은 18일 전통 팥빵 브랜드인 황남빵과 지역특화작목 ‘팥’ 육성을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
이날 보은군청에서 열린 업무협약식에는 최재형 보은군수와 최상은 대표를 대신하여 참석한 최진환 대표이사를 비롯한 관계자들이 참석해 상호 협력 방안을 논의하고, 지속 가능한 지역 농업 생태계 조성에 대한 뜻을 모았다.
협약에는 보은에서 생산되는 팥의 안정적인 생산·공급 체계 구축과 가공용 팥의 품질 향상을 위한 기술 지원, 지역 농가와의 계약재배 확대 등이 담겼으며, 황남빵은 종자 보급과 유통 지원, 생산물 전량 수매를 맡고 보은군은 재배 기술 지원과 현장 컨설팅으로 생산 기반을 뒷받침할 계획이다.
군은 이번 협약을 계기로 그동안 대표 밭작물이 없던 지역에 ‘팥’을 특화작목으로 육성하기 위한 기반을 마련하고, 재배 기반 확대와 계약재배를 통해 농가 소득을 높이며 특화작목 중심의 농업 구조를 점진적으로 구축해 나갈 방침이다.
황남빵은 이번 협약을 통해 안정적인 국산 팥 공급처를 확보하고 고품질 원료 수급 기반을 강화하는 한편, 보은군과의 협력을 통해 지역 농업과 식품 산업이 함께 성장하는 상생 협력 모델을 구축해 나갈 것으로 기대된다.
최진환 대표이사는 “보은군과의 협력을 통해 고품질의 국산 팥을 안정적으로 확보하겠다”며 “지역 농업과 함께 성장하는 전통 식품 기업으로서의 역할을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
