【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군립도서관은 오는 12월까지 도서관 2층 로비에서 지역에서 활발히 활동하고 있는 한국 현대 목판화의 거장 김준권 작가의 목판화 작품‘보리밭’을 전시한다고 18일 밝혔다.
이번 전시는 지역 예술인의 소중한 작품을 군민들과 공유하려는 작가의 뜻에 따라 마련됐으며, 군민들이 일상에서 예술을 접하고 문화적 감수성을 높일 수 있도록 기획됐다.
전시 작품인 김준권 작가의 ‘보리밭’(채묵목판)은, 작가가 우리 산천에서 느낀 정겨운 풍경과 따뜻한 정서를 수묵 판화로 표현한 작품이다.
또한 끝없이 물결치는 보리밭의 모습은 모진 바람을 견디며 자라나는 우리 민족의 강인한 생명력을 상징적으로 담아내고 있다.
특히, 이번 전시에는 작품 감상에 깊이를 더하고자, 김준권 작가로부터 기증받은 도록과 예술 관련 서적을 함께 선보이는 특별 전시 공간도 마련했다.
이를 통해 관람객들이 판화 작품과 더불어 작가의 전반적인 작품 세계와 예술적 흐름을 더욱 폭넓게 살펴볼 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
한미경 평생학습센터 소장은 “진천에 뿌리를 내리고 한국 목판화의 위상을 세계에 알린 거장의 작품을 도서관에서 전시하게 돼 매우 뜻깊다”며 “앞으로도 군민들이 일상에서 예술을 가까이 누릴 수 있는 문화예술 향유 기회를 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
