충청남도교육청이 유치원과 어린이집의 체계를 하나로 통합하는 ‘유보통합’의 성공적인 안착을 위해 본격적인 현장 실험에 나선다. 도교육청은 영유아들에게 차별 없는 양질의 교육·보육 환경을 제공하기 위해 ‘2026년 유보통합 시범 사업’ 대상 기관 652곳을 최종 선정했다고 밝혔다.
이번 시범 사업은 2026년 3월부터 2027년 2월까지 1년간 진행된다. 충남 지역의 특수성을 반영한 운영 사례를 발굴하고, 유치원과 어린이집이 긴밀하게 협력하는 교육 기반을 조성하는 것이 핵심 목표다.

교육 격차 해소를 위한 ‘취약 지원’ 대책도 강화된다. 농어촌과 원도심 등 소규모 취약 지역 유아들을 위해 ‘누리과정 놀이안심인력’을 배치하고, 문화예술 향유 기회가 적은 지역을 대상으로 ‘유아 문화예술놀이 지원 사업’을 펼친다.
이를 통해 거주 지역에 상관없이 모든 영유아가 안정적인 보육 서비스를 누릴 수 있도록 돕는다.
현장의 혼란을 줄이기 위한 ‘협업 지원’ 체계도 가동된다.
