경산시(시장 조현일)는 오는 23일부터 카카오페이를 통한 결제 서비스를 도입한다고 19일 밝혔다.
이번 서비스 시행으로 이용자들은 실물 카드 없이도 카카오페이를 통해 경산사랑카드를 간편하게 사용할 수 있게 된다. 특히 기존에는 KB Pay 간편결제가 안드로이드 운영체제에서만 가능했으나, 카카오페이 도입으로 iOS 기반 아이폰 사용자들도 간편결제를 이용할 수 있게 됐다.
시는 이번 조치가 모바일 중심 소비 환경 변화에 대응하고, 지역화폐 결제 접근성과 이용 편의를 높이기 위한 것이라고 설명했다. 이에 따라 젊은 층을 중심으로 지역화폐 이용률이 증가할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
경산시는 서비스 확대를 계기로 지역화폐의 일상 결제 활용도를 높이고, 소상공인 매출 증대와 지역 내 소비 선순환 구조 강화에 나설 방침이다.
한편 경산시는 지역경제 활성화를 위해 경산사랑카드 구매 금액의 10%를 인센티브로 지급하고 있다.
