【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=단양군 매포읍과 영춘면이 새봄을 맞아 쾌적한 생활환경 조성을 위한 국토대청결운동을 전개했다.
매포읍은 지난 18일 기관·단체·기업체·학교·공무원 등 100여 명이 참여한 가운데 도로 및 하천변 환경정화 활동과 도로 노면 청소를 실시했다.
이날 행사에는 매포읍 이장협의회를 비롯한 25개 기관·단체가 자발적으로 참여해 겨우내 방치된 국도·지방도 도로변과 대가천 일대 하천변의 쓰레기를 집중 수거했다. 또한 한일시멘트, 성신양회, 태경BK, GRM, 군장종합건설 등 관내 기업체의 지원으로 집진차 3대와 살수차 3대를 동원해 동절기 도로에 쌓인 모래와 비산먼지를 제거했다.
아울러 매포의용소방대의 협조를 받아 평동시가지 회전교차로부터 북단양농협, 도곡리 입구 구간까지 물청소를 병행하며 도심 환경 정비에 힘을 보탰다. 이와 함께 평동2리를 비롯한 20여 개 마을에서도 주민들이 자발적으로 참여해 ‘내 집 앞·내 마을 앞’ 청소와 영농폐기물 분리수거를 실시하며 깨끗한 마을 만들기에 동참했다.

영춘면도 같은 날 오전 10시 지역 주민과 기관·단체 100여 명이 참여한 가운데 ‘2026년 새봄맞이 국토대청결운동’을 실시했다. 이장협의회, 주민자치위원회, 새마을회, 청년회 등 지역 단체와 협력해 참여 체계를 갖추고, 상리제방, 북벽 앞 제방, 상리하천변, 체육공원 우회도로 일원으로 활동 구역을 세분화해 체계적인 환경정화 활동을 펼쳤다.
